Waycross College Merged with South Georgia Collete of Douglas!

In an effort to reduce costs, the Georgia Board of Regents approved the mergers of eight public colleges, with Waycross College being one of them to be merged.

With that being said, let's examine a few of the post merger efforts and comments:

A massive effort was undertaken to fill at least 5 buses and send them to the meeting in Atlanta where the Board of Regents were to meet.

Approximately 120 people from Waycross went to said meeting.

One attendee, the "Reverend" Fer-Rell Malone has stated that their attendance "did have an impact".

Well "Reverend", I would agree that your attendance did have an "impact", however not in the manner in which you think.

The vote? Your attendance did not have an impact on that at all.

The shirts that stated "Do Your Homework"? They probably had an impact. After all, there is nothing better than going to a meeting where people have already done the study, made the correct financial decision, and get faced with shirts that basically accuse them of being stupid.

"Do Your Homework"? What do you think that the research and the cost cutting measures were about? They were the homework.

Waycross just didn't make the cut!

And to further piss on their leg, the comments that the people of Waycross felt "disrespected" by their process and that you DEMAND that they respect the Waycross community????

All we need to do now is bring in the "Reverend" Jessie and the "Reverend" Al to complete this gig.

Respect is not an item that can be demanded, for respect must be earned.

Respect is earned when you play within the rules, color between the lines, and accept the decisions that are in the best interests of the taxpayers as a whole, not just in your little world of Waycross GA.

In a nutshell, whenever you demand to be respected, or you state that you have been disrespected, you're dragging out that whining card that is ever so popular.

It's not a matter of being "disrespected".

You were told NO, and you don't like it.

This has nothing to do with disrespect on the part of the Board of Regents, however it does show a complete and total lack of class on those that were "disrespected".

Perhaps next time that the good "Rev-Rend" gathers up a group to go to Atlanta, it would be best to drive the official vehicle for those "disrespected" people.

Perhaps it would also be prudent to carry a card of this type in your pocket as well in order to stop that "disrespect".

You were not "disrespected".

You just didn't get what you wanted..........

Waycross - "Disrespected" from Every Direction

When did Fer-Rell Malone become the spokesman for Waycross? It would be terrible if the Board of Regents were to judge the entire community from the ignorant actions of Malone .

While I may not agree with the decision,I understand the reasoning behind it. It was a pure and simple business decision.

The campus has not grown in size or students.

The Rev. Fer-Rell Malone should have studied more in English class.

The word "Disrespected" is used more by those of the THUG mentality, than by someone whom EDUCATED.

If the good Rev. Fer-Rell Malone wants to see whom has "Disrespected" the fair city of Waycross ,he has to look no further than his mirror.

    Look at a few examples:
The Ware Hotel, purchased and left to ruin

The Lyric Theater, purchased and left to ruin

The Old Bailey St. School, purchased and left to ruin.

I do not mean to be rude but this would be a better city if The Rev. Fer-Rell Malone would sit down and be quiet.

    Thank you
    Francis Richardson
