The Hunt is on for the NEW City of Waycross Manager - Part II

The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Ever heard that before?

Well, it certainly doesn't apply to our local media!

We won't call any names here, but a nice write up was made in the local print media about the hunt for the new City of Waycross manager.

We spoke about it here:

The Hunt is on for the NEW City of Waycross Manager

It seems that a "minor" detail was left out that all of you "taxpayers" might find interesting:

$12,500.00 of YOUR TAXPAYING DOLLARS TO FUND THE SEARCH

Let's now go here:

06/22/10 Called City Meeting

In order that you can read this:

"The purpose of the meeting will be to consider bids for an Executive Search Firm to fill the City Manager position and then adjourn into an Executive Session to Discuss the City Manager vacancy.

After discussion, Commissioner Diane Hopkins made a motion to tentatively approve the Executive Search Firm bid from the Carl Vinson Institute of the University of Georgia for the amount of $12,500.00 with the understanding that HR Director Raphel Maddox will negotiate the price and scope of work with the winning firm. Commissioner Daniel Yarbrough seconded the motion. Commissioner Diane Hopkins amended her motion to accept the bid from the Carl Vinson Institute of the University of Georgia in the amount of $12,500 or less. Commissioner Daniel Yarbrough seconded the amended motion. Commissioners Hopkins, Yarbrough, Solomon-Gaines, and Simmons all voted in favor; Commissioner Davis voted No. The motion carried 4-1."

And one other thing, Waycross GA Bearkeeper #1, The "Educated" Norman Davis, perhaps that education of yours is finally paying off.

Good job on the NO vote.

So many places to advertise that is at no charge.

From the department of labor to the hundreds of internet sites, everyone is looking for a job.

Yet, you had to go and spend $12,500.00 of OUR MONEY?

Wow. We're impressed. (NOT)

City of Waycross Code Department - Inside Please

Now we know how all of you have your panties bunched up about the "HISTORIC" Gilmore/Brunel Street area, so why don't one of you stop and write up a citation on this:

You all have been riding back and forth by this for over a week, yet it's still there.

Shall we help you count the ways that it violates code, city ordinances, and the law?

Or, do you think you can do a little enforcement as you should?

Waycross GA Satilla Regional Medical Center Sued!

As the federal government brings charges against Waycross GA Satilla Regional Medical Center (SRMC), the response from SRMC spokesperson Clay Thomas includes:

Clay Thomas characterized the lawsuit as "unfounded and old news".

Thomas said it is a "whittled-down version of an old complaint, which also is unfounded".

“The amended complaint is hardly news. It is essentially a narrower version of a four-year-old medical malpractice claim that has yet to prove a single fact."

Thomas also stated that SRMC “will continue to defend itself vigorously against these meritless allegations".

Our first commentary on this news can be found here:

Lana Rogers Blows Whistle on SRMC

More news reports can be found here:

Fox 30 Jacksonville Story on SRMC

Jacksonville.Com story on SRMC

As stated before, we don't know who is right or who is wrong, but it appears that the federal government believes that they are.

We'll just be patient to see the outcome of the situation before passing any judgment.

Once again, a big THANK YOU to Lana Rogers for getting the ball rolling.

The Gang of 3 in Waycross GA

As the Waycross GA Gang of 3 consider the potentially illegal funding of the "J-Fly" event that is being promoted for Waycross GA, we want to have a little more input on the subject.

To our Gang of 3 Commissioner/Bearkeepers:

Waycross GA Bearkeeper #3 Non-Profit Holder Marian Gaines

Waycross GA Bearkeeper #2 Pastor and Non-Profit Enthusiast William Simmons

Waycross GA Bearkeeper #1 ,The "Educated" Norman Davis

Once again, your true colors (no pun intended) are showing.

Regardless of your intentions, the appearance that you are giving is one of a race based preference.

In other words, you appear to be racist.

Are you?

Only you know for sure in your heart if that is the case or not.

Let's examine a few points:

Swampfest (a predominately white festival) - NO FUNDING

Gram Parsons Pull (a predominately white festival) - NO FUNDING

J-Fly - Oak Street Festival - MLK Day Parade (predominately black festivals) - YOU'RE ALL OVER THESE!

Or.... let's look at this another way:

Is the funding because of the non-profit family connections with the Flynn family?

You know what we're talking about:

The preachers

The non-profit activity

Or perhaps, it's just birds of a feather flocking together.

Gaines & Simmons - Step aside if this gets voted on.

You have the appearance of conflicts of interest due to all of your non-profit connections.

Davis - You're just a lost cause.

However, we at the Waycross GA Blog are realists and understand that you 3, the GANG OF 3, have the votes to do whatever you want.

So........

When you vote to fund J-Fly and his band of brothers, make sure that you have enough in 2011 to fund:

Waycross GA Fart Fest 2011

In anticipation of you voting to fund J-Fly, we're getting set up and ready to flood the internet with your foolishness.

Go ahead. Fund J-Fly and watch the Waycross GA Fart Fest Blog saturate the internet with the Gang of 3 getting all of the credit.

Waycross GA Fart Fest 2011 will be the first of many festivals that we're going to insist that you help provide funding for.

Imagine the possibilities for the advertising. Just imagine.......

Go ahead. Make our day. Approve J-Fly and the funding.

Keep your attorney close. You're going to need him!

More Shootings in Waycross GA

Details still sketchy, but it appears that we have shootings in the Garlington Heights area around Georgia Street and Crawford Street.

As always, be careful when you're in or around Prime Bear Habitat in Waycross GA.

Updated!

Just another day in public housing in Waycross GA.

We've had the gang type shootings in the Bailey Heights area, now we've got multiple gunshots in the Garlington Heights area.

One bear was shot in the foot and police are investigating!

Waycross - Armed Bears in Every Direction

Ripoff in Waycross GA!

The Waycross GA Blog would like to say:

JOB WELL DONE!

To Jason Rubenbauer, Guest Columnist for Monday, July 26, 2010, for the Waycross Journal-Herald Newspaper.

As we have discussed, "J-Fly" wants $7500.00 of YOUR taxpaying dollars to fund his event.

As Mr. Rubenbauer points out, the overwhelming support given by The Honorable Chief Bearkeeper in Charge, Mayor Clarance Billups and the Gang of 3 Commissioners is appalling.

Read the entire article here:

Once again, thank you to Mr. Rubenbauer for a well thought out, well written article on the folly and foolishness that is being considered by some of our local "leaders".

If the City of Waycross Commissioners approve this, then look for the 2011 to bring the first annual "Fart-Fest" in which we are going to insisting on a HUGE donation!

Waycross - Bears in Every Direction

Where's the Waycross GA News Media?

Where's our local media?

Curious minds want to know why this issue has just sort of "disappeared", along with any coverage from the news media.

From the July 20, 2010 Ware County Election, here is the question, along with the answer:

"Ware County GOP Ballot Question No. 2: Shall the Okefenokee Area Development Authority and the Waycross-Ware County Development Authority be consolidated into one legal entity for the purpose of promoting industrial and economic development in Waycross and Ware County?"

* Yes 3,462
* No 1,109

Perhaps my math skills need honing, but it appears that 76% of people voted to combine the OADA and the WWDA into one organization.

76%? There is no other way to describe this but:

LANDSLIDE!

76 % of our registered voters are unhappy with the current development situation in Ware County.

Could it be the lack of oversite?

Could it be the quality investments like Sherrod Vans?

Could it be the 300+ jobs to be provided by ERC?

Could it be that the people are finally tired of giving the candy store away?

While we don't know the answer for sure, we would like to see this question posed:

"Shall the Okefenokee Area Development Authority and the Waycross-Ware County Development Authority be eliminated?"

The answer to that question would speak volumes to our "leaders" and the exploits that are going on.

More "Religious" Organizations in the Food Business!

More “Non-Profit” “Religious” Organization that are confessing to selling food again!

We have the pastor’s aid ministry of St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church selling fish dinners on Friday at the church located at 300 Fireman Street in Waycross GA.

For only $7.00 per meal, you can help contribute to the downfall of local tax-paying businesses in order to subside a “religious organization” that can not self fund by its membership.

Shiloh Baptist Church and the Reverend Clarance Taylor invite everyone to come dine and fellowship with them on Saturday for their breakfast of eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, salmon, chicken and gravy, orange juice, coffee, and milk. Just make sure you bring your $5.00 "donation" (wink-wink-nod-nod) for the meal!

And if food is not your thing, come on down to The Dwelling Place and Gates of Joy Fellowship and join that big "Mega Fund Raiser" yard sale on Saturday beginning at 8am. Baked desserts will also be sold!

Come on everyone! Get a great meal with a big ole' helping of hypocrisy.

Alms for the Poor - Alms for the Poor / Waycross GA

Those poor, poor, ministries.........

Bypassing all of the "traditional" fundraising activities in Waycross, we now see more and more of the ministries begging.

Begging down at the local Harvey's Grocery Store on Plant Avenue.

It's all good however, because their little donation bucket said:

"Jesus Loves You"

I feel so much better about that.

These "ministries" are getting smarter by the day!

Since they are not selling wares or services, they probably don't have to have any permits.

I thought that ministries were here to give and serve - not to take.

By the way, a little message for the management of the Waycross GA Harvey's Grocery Store:

I spent my money at Kroger's instead.

Time to Break out the Fly-Flap!

Back to the story that just won't die........

Alexander B, agent for “J-Fly” (Jorel Flynn) just won’t give up. Mr. “B”, is insisting that the City of Waycross “INVEST” $7500.00 in the second annual “J-Fly Jazz Fest”.

Mr. “B”, producer of the first Fly Festival in 2009, WHICH LOST MONEY, must be commended for coming back with a show that lost money and insisting that the City of Waycross subsidize it with a "fee" this time.

Now Profit Fart is not the brightest bulb in the box or the sharpest knife in the drawer, but Fart knows that Mr. “B” could very well be the start of something new and exciting for Waycross GA!

Imagine that every event organizer that wants to come to Waycross has visions of that open checkbook.

Imagine that every event organizer gives their statistics on the impact for the community.

Imagine that every event organizer cannot find CASH SPONSORS (like J-Fly can’t), so the City of Waycross is expected to foot the bill.

The Honorable Chief Bearkeeper in Charge, Mayor Clarance Billups

Waycross GA Bearkeeper #2 Pastor and Non-Profit Enthusiast William Simmons

Waycross GA Bearkeeper #3 Non-Profit Holder Marian Solomon-Gaines

Are all on record of trying to find the funds to support your failed project.

Therefore, the 3/2 vote split will be decided by

Waycross GA Bearkeeper #1, The "Educated" Norman Davis ,

who has already said that :

“that his fellow commissioners concerns are "legitimate", and he just "hopes something can be worked out".”

(FYI, he was referring to the "White" Bearkeepers with that statement)

So Bearkeeper Davis, YOU are the one that is going to be working this out.

YOU are the one that is going to have the yes or no vote to fund this event.

YOU are the one that gets to decide if Waycross GA is to pay for an event that cannot make a profit on its own.

Mr. Mayor and Commissioners, if you “find” funds to support this project, then our taxes are too high or your priorities are not in order.

Mr. Mayor and Commissioners, if you “find” the funds to support the “Fly-Fest”, then you had better get your check book out and ready, for we are going to be planning the new annual festival for Waycross GA.

Can’t you just see the advertising for it now?

Come join us in Waycross GA for the first annual “Fart Fest”.

There must be at least a million ways to advertise the new “Fart Fest”, and each of them will be guaranteed to be a smell that will waft up into your awaiting nostrils.

So the question now comes to our elected “leaders”:

Is this a black thing?

'J-Fly" Wants $7500.00 of YOUR MONEY

If this was not so absurd, it would be funny.

'J-Fly', a Waycross native, a jazz musician, represented by Alexander B, his agent, has asked the City of Waycross Commissioners for $7500.00 of YOUR hard earned tax dollars.

Alexander B has stated that this amount would be 10 percent of the tax revenues that "he" projects that the City of Waycross will take in from money spent during the 'J-Fly' weekend.

Now curious minds want to know a few things:

Where did Alexander B get his accounting degree?

Are these visitors going to spend 2.5 MILLION plus dollars while in Waycross?

Why does Alexander B not have a last name?

Alexander B believes that the City of Waycross would be making a good investment.

The Waycross GA Blog however, does not......

Waycross GA Bearkeeper #5 Diana Hopkins has stated that in-kind costs are all the City of Waycross is accustomed to "spending" on events like this.

Kudos to you Diane Hopkins!

Waycross GA Bearkeeper #5 Danny Yarbrough, a supporter of the J-Fly Festival, has stated that he would have a problem voting for the City of Waycross to give a cash donation.

Kudos to you Danny Yarbrough!

Waycross GA Bearkeeper #1 The "Educated" Norman Davis has stated that his fellow commissioners concerns are "legitimate", and he just "hopes something can be worked out".

NO SOUP FOR YOU NORMAN DAVIS!

Work something out? There is nothing to work out.

Of course, I'm sure that J-Fly is one of those "folks just trying to make a living", so I do understand your reasoning.

If you give funds to this, you're going to have everyone lining up in droves to collect their next check.

While we understand that many of the residents of Waycross are a "check" type of constitutant, J-Fly needs to either stand on the merits of his art or go elsewhere.

If the public wants him, they will pay.

If they don't pay, then he is not wanted badly enough.

All of the minds at the Waycross GA Blog say to you:

JUST SAY NO.

NO FUNDS WILL BE DONATED.

Shall we list the ones that you have not donated to?

If the City of Waycross Bearkeepers fund this event with our taxpaying dollars, we will have only one question to ask:

Is this a black thing?

Magnet School - Yes or No

Coming soon, July 20, 2010.

Time to vote.

Time to settle once and for all, the fate of the Ware County Magnet School.

We're going to weigh in with our opinions on the subject now, and most likely, you'll feel the same way that most are going to feel after the vote.

Unhappy.

Everyone is going to end up being unhappy.

First of all, let's address the "YES" people:

"To save the arts, academics, athletics, & JROTC for ALL Ware County Students.

Save them for how long? A year, 5 years, forever? Is closing the magnet school the total answer for all of the budget problems in the school system?

"To keep your property taxes low"

Low? They're not low now, and regardless of the open/closed vote, your taxes are going up! Don't say that we didn't warn you.

To save teachers' jobs? So closing the Magnet School is the solution for saving the teachers? Why don't we just eliminate the athletic programs and save the jobs that way instead?

The sheer hatred of the Magnet School by you on this side of the fence is amazing.

Amazingly disgusting.

And to the "NO" people:

You're an example of petty politics at its finest.

Your political signs are some of the most offensive that we have ever seen.

"United We Stand"

B.S.

There is nothing united or uniting about your ad campaign.

Don't allow Superintendent Barrow to bully voters?

Stop Barrow from dividing the County?

Don't allow Barrow as a scapegoat for runaway spending?

United We Stand in our division perhaps.

And this one:

Barrow the greedy gold-digger hauling off your money in wheelbarrows?

This is just disgusting.

Barrow does not have the power or the ability to do what all of you claim. That goes for both sides of the debate, yes or no.

And to both sides of the equation, you could have taken all of the money that each of you have spent on manpower, signs, advertising, billboards, and the like and went a long way towards keeping the school funded.

Instead, we have neighbor vs neighbor, friends vs friends in the ultimate showdown in Ware County GA.

This is better than WWE Monday Night RAW!

Now, if you want to see the power, go HERE to see where the power rests.

The power rests in our elected officials, that YOU elected to serve the best interests of Ware County and its citizens.

While the Board of Education members are not perfect, just as none of us are, they made an educated decision on what was best for our school system.

Don't like it?

Change your leaders.

Instead, we're dividing the county instead.

YES or NO, OPEN or CLOSED, this is just a disgusting mess.

Hi there Waycross. I know I haven't contributed any Waycross specific blogs lately. But I wanted to invite you to visit my more spiritually oriented personal blog if you have found yourself pursuing God, or God pursuing you lately. I doubt many would argue that Waycross could use a spiritual "revival", though not the scheduled and planned Sunday to Thursday or Thursday to Sunday kind. :)

Illegal Activity in Waycross GA - Attention Bearkeepers!

It just doesn't get any better than this!

We just LOVE IT when the laws/codes that apply to your ordinary citizens are flaunted by those in positions of power.

Combine non-profits, the City of Waycross Code Department turning a blind eye, and look-a-here at what goes on!

We have a CONDEMNED property at 701 Brunel Street in the City of Waycross.

This property is only 2 houses down from one particular City of Waycross Code Department employee.

This property has connections to a non-profit and a City of Waycross employee.

What about it commissioners? Just how much of this b.s. are you going to tolerate?

We all know (including your code department officials) that you can not work on this property until you have a permit, and the permit is properly posted, yet we have workers working all around CONDEMNED stickers.

But, us normal peons are just not all special and sheet like the City of Waycross employees are we?

Good ole' boys. Hard at work. Working the system.....

(And a big thank you goes out to our photo contributors for the pictures and information on this matter!)

Jesus for Sale in Waycross GA

It's about time!

We finally have a "religious organization" that has stepped up to the plate and has got:

"Jesus for Sale"

Congratulations to Dr. Michael-Angelo James, pastor of Emmanuel's International Cathedral of the Holy Spirit for showing true leadership in this "religious" venture.

Join with the fine Dr. and Emmanuel's Bible College at 600 Genoa Street on Monday at 7pm.

Make sure that you bring your $25.00!

The Dr. is going to instruct and inform the students about the significance of leadership and what it means to be responsible for a group as one leads according to the principles outlined in God's word.

Surely, this shall be a most excellent class as Dr. Michael-Angelo James brings the basis of PAYING to learn about Jesus and the Word of God.

Finally - a leader that bypasses the hypocrisy and gets right to the point of fundraising.

Forget the yard sales, the BBQ's and fish fry, and all of the foolishness like that.

We got a man that goes straight for the CASH!

The Squab Hotel in Waycross GA

While the name "Hotel" brings images to mind of a bustling business, with people coming and going, and commerce being done, it is not always so.

We have a "Hotel" in our "HISTORIC" Downtown Waycross that serves no guests like you or like me.

There is no commerce taking place, there are however, guests being accommodated.

We would like to welcome you to:

"The Squab Hotel".

Formerly known as the "HISTORIC" Ware Hotel, The Squab Hotel is housing hundreds, if not thousands of guests known as "Squab".

Perhaps you'll know them better by their street name:

Pigeon.

At The Squab Hotel, you'll find everything that the most honorable pigeon deserves.

You'll find broken windows for quick and easy access.

You'll find a nice rooftop to soak up the rays of sunshine.

You'll find welcome and refuge granted by the City of Waycross Code Department that once again, REFUSES TO ENFORCE THE LAW.

You Squab will want to be careful however, for we have found much evidence of Bear Activity going on there.

The broken windows, the gang tagging, the destruction, the typical Waycross Bear behavior.

Waycross GA Bearkeeper #5 Danny Yarbrough made the following statement concerning the Squab Hotel months ago:

"The Ware Hotel was purchased by Mr. Bill Gross from St. Mary's, Georgia. His intentions are to historically rennovate the building into 32 apartments for affordable housing (not subsidized). At the present he is preparing for the abatement process (asbestos and the like). Hopefully, you will see some activity in and around the building very soon. Completion of the project is appx. one year from commencement."

Perhaps this is the case. However, when you look at THIS, you'll see that the property has been owned since March of 2009 and is crumbling more as every day goes by.

When you look at the sales record, it appears that this is just another of the troubled properties in Waycross GA that the shell game is being played with.

Transfer it from one person/company to another anytime the heat gets too hot, and make the City of Waycross Code Department chase its tail.

And does the Downtown Waycross area really need more "affordable" housing? We've got plenty of that now in the area that is PRIME BEAR HABITAT.

How about we look for upscale housing to bring in upscale tenants, therefore bringing more money into the downtown Waycross area? Let's see what we can do about bringing in WEALTH, not more lotto, crack, and malt liquor.

How about this?

Let's have a City of Waycross Code official ride by and slap a few of those shiny condemned stickers on the property.

The code department would do it if it were property that was owned by us.

Violations galore, enforcement sorely lacking.

And if you don't want to do that, perhaps this is in order:

Let Waycross GA become the Squab supplier to the fine dining establishments across the world.

We won't even be required to build a Squab farm, because our City of Waycross Code Department has already done the work for us with its "SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT" of the laws.

And as always City of Waycross - WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING LAWS!

We Don't Need No Stinking Laws in Waycross GA!

As the City of Waycross Code Book gets thrown into the trash, the Waycross GA Blog once again states to the fine citizens of Waycross GA:

We don't need no stinking laws!

Why have laws?

Why have ordinances?

Why have code?

Could it be that these things are needed in order to maintain a civilized and safe society?

Could it be?

Could it be that once again, only us poor peons that are citizens of Waycross GA are the only ones that follow them?

We have an eyewitness report in from a fellow City of Waycross Citizen.

Code Violations by a City of Waycross Employee!

It appears that we have an employee of the City of Waycross that knowingly and willingly violated the City of Waycross Code.

You know who you are.

We know who you are.

We both know what you were doing.

We both know what you would do to anyone else that were doing the same.

We both know that a brave soul that was your fellow employee did it to you.

Because of the department that you work in, there is:

ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR YOUR BEHAVIOR!

You can't say that you didn't know better.

You can't plead ignorance.

City of Waycross Bearkeepers, it's time for a good ole' fashioned firing.

It is also time to completely disband the City of Waycross Code Department and start over from scratch.

Stupid Is as Stupid Does in Waycross GA

Presume for a moment that you wanted to invest in a small South Georgia town like Waycross GA.

You research the market, and you put your money where your mouth is.

1.4 million dollars of your money.

Invested in Waycross GA.

Invested in legitimate, tax-paying, employee hiring, business.

A business that looks like this:

A business that is in the business of washing cars, providing jobs, and PAYING TAXES INTO THE COMMUNITY.

A business that is forced to compete with:

4 NON-PROFIT CAR WASHES on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

4 NON-PROFIT CAR WASHES that are running water into the storm drains.

4 NON-PROFIT CAR WASHES that are not paying taxes.

4 NON-PROFIT CAR WASHES that do not have visible permits.

You've just got to ask yourself:

"What kind of idiot would invest in a town that allows this?"

Rest assured, the person that decided to purchase and open this car wash was not an idiot. A potential profitable venture was opened, at great financial risk to their well being.

A return on investment was hoped for and dare we say expected?

All good, just as it should be.

We at the Waycross GA Blog have a different question:

What kind of idiot/idiots would allow for 4 NON-PROFIT CAR WASHES to be held on the same day, on the same street, in the same town as such unfair competition against our tax paying business?

That kind of idiot is a fool.

We did not see visible permits on the 4 NON-PROFIT CAR WASHES, however perhaps they had them.

If they did, only an idiot would have allowed for this to happen.

If they did not, our code department is once again a complete and total failure for failing to enforce our laws.

YOUR Tax Dollars in Waycross GA Part IV

Once again, here's an example of YOUR tax dollars in Waycross GA!

Today's honor and award goes out to the Ware County Board of Education for the Daffodil School located on Morton Avenue.

$239,034.00 worth of real estate not only exempt from all tax dollars, but being left to crumble and and decay by our "leaders".

Shut down, boarded up, turning into Prime Bear Habitat.

And where's the code department?

If this was your personal property, they would be on you faster than you could say "fried chicken".

You would have the visit, the citation, and the court hearing from the City of Waycross.

Once again, we have the double standards, the hypocrisy, the total waste of our tax dollars.

How about round one of our fight card to be as follows:

The City of Waycross Code Department

vs

The Ware County Board of Education

Won't ever happen however, for they're all too busy fighting for that same big ole' gubmint tittee.

As always - We don't need no stinking laws!

Waycross - Do as we say, not as we do.

Google LOVES the Waycross GA Blog!

Type this into google:

"Waycross GA City Manager"

Who's on third?

Waycross GA Blog - Googled in Every Direction

The Hunt is On for the NEW City of Waycross Manager!

The City of Waycross Bearkeepers have contracted with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government (A part of the University of GA) as their executive recruiter for the new city manager position for Waycross GA.

As the hunt commences for the new Waycross City Manager, perhaps the new recruit will enjoy the power of the Waycross GA Blog and the Google search engine to find out what really goes on behind the scenes.

Google loves the Waycross GA Blog, listing it on so many searches about Waycross GA.

Normally, we would not do this, but this time (just for giggles), we’re going to play with the search engine a little bit.

By doing this:

Waycross GA
Waycross GA City Manager
Waycross GA Searches for New City Manager
Waycross GA Job Opportunities
City of Waycross GA
Waycross GA City Manager Pete Pyrzenski Retires
University of GA Recruited to find Waycross GA City Manager
Waycross GA Government
Waycross GA Hiring
Waycross GA Local News
Frank Baugh Waycross GA City Manager
Larry Gattis City Manager
Waycross GA City Commissioner
Google Search
Yahoo Search
Yahoo Search Waycross GA

You can bet that the new recruit for the position of Waycross GA City Manager can get a better idea of what he’s getting himself/herself into.

The discrimination, the selective enforcement of laws and codes, the blind eye turned towards the non-profits, the hypocrisy, and as Waycross GA Bearkeeper #1, The "Educated" Norman Davis stated, those folks just trying to make a living.

Welcome to the NEW City of Waycross City Manager Recruit!

You’ll have a big job ahead of you with this fine city. Between having to deal with the Waycross GA Bears ,the Prophets, and the “special instructions” that will be given to you by the City of Waycross Bearkeepers, you’ll have your hands full!

Read up and study the blog, and we’ll be welcoming you to Waycross GA with open arms.

Perhaps YOU will be the one to make true change.

Perhaps YOU won’t.

Time will tell.

Where's Waldo?

Actually, we found Waldo, but it appears that the Ware County Health Department is missing!

As you've read many times on the Waycross GA Blog, we have questioned about the health and safety practices of many of the "unlicensed" vendors and their food service businesses.

You know.... the churches, the non-profits, the bear feeders all around town.

Where are the inspections, permits and enforcements?

If that was not bad enough, one of our blogger friends has reported in to us about another total lack of action on the part of the Ware County Health Department.

Our friend is an employee at Live Oak Homes in Waycross GA. We are told that there is a legal catering business that is licensed to sell food, and equipped with catering trucks, that is available for employees to buy breakfast and lunch from.

We are also told that for at least the last 3 months, food is being sold in the parking lot out of coolers located in the trunk of a vehicle. Food that is prepared at home, and sold with no inspection, license, permits, or oversight from the health department.

We have also been told that the Ware County Health Department has been contacted at least 3 times about this matter and no action has been taken.

Why don't we have some inspired individual from the Ware County Health Department check this out? Why don't you go to Live Oak Homes at 8:30am (during the break) and check the validity of this claim?

Is it true? Are you once again NOT DOING YOUR JOB?

Or is it true that you look at this the same way that Waycross GA Bearkeeper #1, The "Educated" Norman Davis, does when he states:

"These folks just trying to make a living"

Look at it this way:

Food inspections mean safety.

Licensed food facility means TAX DOLLARS.

We don't mind anyone making a living, but we do want for everyone to play by the same set of rules that we follow.

We also want for everyone to share in contributing their TAX DOLLARS that support our Health Department.

If this doesn't get your attention, then you certainly will be deserving of our NASA award.

Once again, we're watching your actions or lack thereof.

Waycross GA - The Hypocrisy City

Say it ain't so City of Waycross Bearkeepers

Review the job as listed on your very own City of Waycross Web Site and come back here so we can discuss this:

AC work - Requires a licensed contractor

Plumbing work - Requires a licensed contractor

Electrical Work - Requires a licensed contractor

But alas, we forget that you're "special".

The City of Waycross does not and will not follow the same laws that it enforces against everyone else.

As long as your new hire has a drivers license, high school diploma, or ged, they're good to go!

All of us in the private sector spend THOUSANDS of dollars on schooling and getting licensed, while once again......

You will not follow the very own laws and codes that you created.

If we, in the private sector, were to operate like this, your famous code department would shut us down ever so fast.

But you...... You're "SPECIAL"

Once again, we don't need no stinking laws!

Your Tax Dollars in Waycross GA Part III

Your tax dollars, hard at work in Waycross GA?

We all just LOVE those big tittied gubmint tax dollars when they come our way, whether in the form of public housing, grants or whatever else may come.

From the White House down to the local City Hall of Waycross, here's an example of government policy gone bad.

We know that the white folk don't ever get over this way, so.....

Welcome to Bailey Heights!

E-1 tax status (EXEMPT) insures that no property taxes are being collected on the property, thus costing each and every citizen of Waycross and Ware County more taxes on their own property.

4.2 MILLION dollars of real estate that is not bringing a dime of revenue for the City of Waycross GA.

4.2 MILLION dollars of real estate that requires maintenance, grass mowing, constant paint cover up work.

4.2 MILLION dollars of real estate that is prime bear habitat.

Bailey Heights.

Gangland.

Tear it down Waycross GA.

July 4th Fireworks are Here!

Yes indeed, the July 4th fireworks are here! Too bad we could not view them in Waycross GA, so here is part of the celebration from the Jacksonville Landing.

Here's a sample of the show that was posted on youtube.

A great fireworks show.

A great location.

Good food and yes........ COLD BEER!

A baseball game going on next door.

A huge crowd, well behaved.

Lots of people from Waycross and South Georgia were there.

Lots of people staying at home tonight, for July 4th is already over.

Waycross - What can you say?

July 4th Poll Results Are In!

The Waycross GA Blog has been running a very (un)scientific poll for the last week regarding the July 4th celebration!

The results are in.

We have polled 26 people in Waycross with the following question:

Do you think the July 4th celebration should be held on Sunday, July 4 or Monday, July 5?

The results:

26 voted for Sunday
0 voted for Monday

Some of the additional comments made were:

Typical Waycross.

Stupid.

Can't get in the way of church!

Craziest thing I've ever heard of.

Celebrate the 4th on the 5th?

We at the Waycross GA Blog are certainly not surprised that our leaders have chose not to celebrate this day on July 4th.

After all, what is July 4th after all?

It could not be a celebration of freedom could it?

A celebration to worship as you see fit?

A celebration to honor this fine country and the values that it should stand for?

Looks to us like Sunday would have been a most wonderful day to honor this celebration of freedom.

Instead, we're letting the politics of religion get in the way.

Sunday should have been a day for church in the morning, family in the evening, bar-b-q grills going all day long, and a celebration of our freedom going into the evening.

Once again, while cities across this fine country are celebrating July 4th, Waycross GA is going to be a day late and a dollar short.

We need some true leaders........

Fundraising in Waycross GA

Nothing better than some good 'ole fund raising activity!

Forget about yard sales.

Forget about the fish fry.

Forget about opening your very own Bar-B-Q Shack.

It's time to beg!

Nothing better than bringing out your church children to ask/beg for money from customers who are trying to buy from a store that is:

Licensed.

Insured.

Providing Jobs.

COLLECTING TAX MONEY (That one is for you bearkeepers)

My Jesus don't pimp children.
